Landscape Maintenance Worker

Leland Lawn, a leader of quality lawn care and landscaping on the Palouse, is seeking to fill the Landscape Maintenance Crew position.

We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working outdoors in a team oriented environment, have positive attitude and wants to establish a long-term career with our company. This person must be reliable, have a strong work ethic, ability to follow directions, and able to operate various equipment. One year of landscape experience is required.

Primary duties include ability to provide upkeep of plants and turf such as shrub and tree pruning, hedges, plant installation and removal, maintain planting beds, lawn aeration and dethatching, and performs related cleanup and hauling of yard debris.

Must be able to lift, carry and walk on various terrains and be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Physically able to carry or lift loads up to 50 pounds, and to frequently bend, stoop, kneel and reach throughout the day. May occasionally use ladders and be comfortable with heights. Must not have major allergies to plants/dust or bee/wasp stings.

Must be available to work full-time from Monday through Friday. Due to the seasonality of our work, this individual will work with other company crews performing various other landscape/lawn care maintenance related services and some overtime may be required.

Pay is $18.00 - $24.00 per hour DOE. There is a 90-day probationary period.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

• Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Experience: One year landscape experience required
• Effort: Have physical stamina and ability to lift and carry landscaping materials, tools, and equipment to complete any landscape projects assigned

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Follow directions from supervisors and work with crew members
• Assists in planting, removal or transplanting of trees, shrubs, and plants
• Utilize a variety of equipment including but not limited to hedge or brush trimmers, chainsaws, polesaws, augers, weed eaters and other hand tools/equipment
• Operate vehicles, and dump trailers obeying traffic laws and regulations
• Ability to use ladders being comfortable with heights
• Assist in organizing the job resources and materials, and contributes to job completion in the most time-efficient manner
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including the work site, equipment and company vehicles
