Landscape Project Manager
Job Description
We are a premier, high-end design-build and commercial landscaping company. We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Landscape Project Manager to oversee our production teams and take control of our field operations.
In this role, you will be the bridge between design, sales, and field execution. This is not a job where you manage one project at a time; you must possess the ability to successfully juggle different jobs at various stages of completion simultaneously while maintaining strict quality control and meeting demanding production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Project Scheduling: Coordinate and manage day-to-day schedules for multiple enhancement, hardscape, and installation crews across various active job sites.
- Material and Equipment Logistics: Track and procure all necessary plant materials, bulk aggregates, hardscape features, and specialized tools, ensuring everything arrives on site exactly when the crew needs it.
- Blueprint and Plan Interpretation: Accurately read and execute complex landscape plans, grading layouts, and irrigation schematics, ensuring specific planting designs, rock borders, and site preparations are strictly followed.
- Subcontractor Management: Source, vet, and oversee specialty subcontractors for tasks such as heavy excavation, masonry, or specialized electrical/plumbing utilities.
- Job Costing and Budgeting: Monitor material costs, labor hours, and overall job profitability to ensure projects stay aligned with original estimates and production rates.
- Client and Sales Coordination: Maintain clear, professional communication with high-end residential clients, commercial property managers, and internal sales staff regarding change orders, schedule shifts, and project handoffs.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce company safety protocols, secure appropriate municipal site permits, and ensure all operations adhere to local environmental and building codes.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of dedicated project management experience within a landscaping environment handling a high volume of concurrent projects.
- High Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision in checking material quantities, verifying elevations, managing layouts, and catching minor errors before they become costly site mistakes.
- Strong Organizational Skills: The proven ability to multitask, problem-solve on the fly, and maintain clear records for multiple active jobsites.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Pacific Northwest plant materials, irrigation systems, drainage installation, and hardscape construction methods (retaining walls, pavers, flatwork).
- Leadership Skills: Experience directing field crews, driving accountability, and fostering a collaborative, productive team environment.
- Licensing: A valid driver's license with a clean record is required to operate company fleet vehicles. Professional industry certifications (such as OLCB licensing) are a major plus.
