Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with product selections, providing knowledgeable product demos when needed
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and processing payments
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the yard is tidy and well-maintained for easy access
• Conduct merchandising activities to highlight featured products and optimize store presentation
• Support upselling efforts by recommending additional items or upgrades to enhance customer satisfaction
• Manage inventory levels by receiving shipments, stocking products, and conducting regular stock checks
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
• Load customers with bulk products such as rock and mulch with a loader or skid.

Skills

• Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions
• Proven supervising experience or leadership skills to support team coordination
• Ability to demonstrate products effectively through engaging demos and explanations
• Strong phone etiquette and communication skills for clear, friendly interactions
• Knowledge of retail math for accurate pricing, discounts, and inventory management
• Basic math skills essential for cash register operations and inventory counts
• Customer service orientation with a positive attitude and problem-solving ability
• Ability to perform stocking duties efficiently while maintaining safety standards
• Ability to run equipment safely and efficiently such as a skid loader and wheeled loader.
