Role Overview
The Landscape & Swimming Pool Architect is responsible for conceptualising, designing, and detailing innovative outdoor spaces and water features that balance functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability. The role covers the full design cycle—from concept creation to construction drawings, municipal submissions, and site coordination—across high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conceptual & Schematic Design
- Develop creative, functional, and site-responsive landscape and pool design concepts.
- Design custom swimming pools, water features, hardscape layouts, planting schemes, pergolas, and lighting zones.
- Conduct site analyses including topography, climate, existing vegetation, and sun/shade studies.
2. Design Development & Detailing
- Prepare detailed landscape architecture and pool drawings including layouts, sections, elevations, and 3D visuals.
- Select materials, plants, finishes, and pool accessories based on project and client requirements.
- Collaborate with structural, MEP, and civil engineers to ensure proper technical coordination.
3. Municipal Submission & Compliance
- Prepare complete sets of submission drawings in accordance with Dubai Municipality (DM), Trakhees, and other authority guidelines.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to secure required landscape and pool approvals.
- Ensure all designs adhere to local codes, safety regulations, and sustainability standards.
4. Client Liaison & Presentations
- Meet with clients to understand project vision, lifestyle requirements, and aesthetic preferences.
- Develop and present mood boards, design presentations, and walkthroughs.
- Integrate client feedback while maintaining core design integrity.
5. Site Supervision & Coordination
- Conduct periodic site visits to ensure accurate implementation of design intent.
- Coordinate with contractors and site teams for clarifications, material inspections, and approvals.
- Review and approve shop drawings, mock-ups, and material samples.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong creativity and artistic vision with knowledge of luxury landscape design trends.
- Understanding of native and adaptive plant species suitable for the UAE climate.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Photoshop, and InDesign; familiarity with Revit and GIS tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices (xeriscaping, LEED/GREEN standards).
- Strong communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture.
- 2–6 years’ experience in high-end landscape and pool design projects (GCC experience preferred).
- Dubai Municipality or equivalent local authority registration is an advantage.
Preferred Certifications
- LEED Green Associate or LEED AP (optional).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification – beneficial for senior positions.
