Landscape Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, and edging to ensure healthy and attractive lawns and gardens.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as excavators for planting, grading, and hardscape installation projects.
• Conduct lawn care activities such as aeration, fertilization, weed control, and irrigation system adjustments to promote lush growth.
• Assist with landscape construction projects including installing hardscapes like patios and walkways, planting trees and shrubs, and setting up irrigation systems.
• Maintain safety standards by inspecting equipment regularly and practicing proper tool handling during all tasks.
• Provide tree care services including trimming, pruning, and health assessments to preserve the safety and aesthetics of trees.
• Support seasonal tasks such as snow plowing during winter months to ensure safe access for clients.

Requirements

• Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience operating landscaping machinery and hand tools.
• Familiarity with lawn care techniques, landscape maintenance practices, and horticultural principles.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a high level of safety awareness.
• Experience with excavation equipment such as excavators is preferred but not required; training will be provided if necessary.
• Strong understanding of landscaping design principles including hardscape features like patios or retaining walls.
• Knowledge of tree care practices including trimming, pruning, and health assessments.
• Excellent teamwork skills combined with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
• Prior experience with irrigation systems, gardening tasks, snow plowing, or construction projects is a plus but not mandatory. Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
