The Turf Applicator is responsible for overseeing landscape operations at client sites landscape turf applicator skilled in applying fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides to maintain healthy, high‑quality turf. Adept at identifying turf diseases, weeds, and pest issues and selecting appropriate treatment methods. Proficient with spreaders, sprayers, and application equipment, following all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines. Strong background in lawn care, soil health, and seasonal turf management, with a consistent record of safe, accurate, and effective pesticide use.
This role involves supervising a variety of service lines, including basic landscape maintenance, installation, and supportive services such as irrigation, seasonal color management, and chemical applications. The Crew Leader plays a key role in maintaining client satisfaction through effective team leadership and high-quality service delivery.
Duties And Responsibilities
Monitor turf health and document application records, chemical usage, and site conditions
Surface customer problems or concerns and report back to Operations Manager
Apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and soil amendments according to label instructions and safety regulations
Operate and maintain spray rigs, backpack sprayers, spreaders, and other application equipment
Ensure equipment preventative maintenance is performed as needed and equipment is in good working order
Participate in branch meetings as directed
Accurately capture and turn in crew time logs through electronic time capture (ETC)
Log equipment usage and maintenance cycles and follow all state and federal pesticide handling, storage, and safety guidelines
Perform routine lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, aeration, and overseeding
Education And Experience
BrightView Equipment certifications
Experience in a landscape-related field
Demonstrated leadership among the team and with peers
Valid Driver License
Physical Demands/Requirements
Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
Ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day
Work Environment
Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
Work near or about natural bodies of water
Ability to work in extreme conditions – temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
Work outdoors in moderate to extreme heat in dry/humid near automotive traffic, natural bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical/electrical hazards, and direct sunlight.
Requires protective clothing and personal devices: Eye protection, safety vest, gloves, hard hat, earplugs, long-sleeved shirts, and work boots
