Landscaping Crew Lead

Position Overview

Royal Landscaping is seeking a reliable landscaper to lead installation crews on residential and small commercial landscape projects. The Crew Lead is responsible for managing daily job site operations, directing crew members, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.

This position requires someone who is hands-on, organized, and capable of leading a crew while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise landscaping crew members on job sites
• Execute landscape installation projects including:
• Paver patios and walkways
• Retaining walls
• Planting beds and tree/shrub installation
• Grading and site preparation
• Mulch, sod, and rock installation
• Read and interpret landscape plans and layouts
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and to company standards
• Operate landscaping equipment including:
• Skid steer
• Plate compactor
• Concrete saw
• Power equipment
• Train and mentor crew members
• Communicate with management regarding job progress and materials
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
• Provide professional communication with clients when needed

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in landscape installation or hardscaping
• Vehicle to get to job sites
• Prior crew leadership or foreman experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of:
• Paver base preparation
• Retaining wall installation
• Planting and grading
• Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely
• Valid driver's license (truck + trailer experience preferred)
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

Preferred Skills

• Experience with paver patios and retaining wall systems
• Ability to read landscape design plans
• Experience running skid steer or mini skid
• Strong problem-solving skills on job sites
