Landscaping Maintenance Crew Member – Internship

Our Landscaping division is a cross functional team of certified horticulturists, arborists, plant health care and irrigation specialists working together to ensure high quality services for our clients. We are growing rapidly and developing the next generation of landscape professionals.

Position Summary

DCPS is seeking dependable and hardworking Landscaping Maintenance Crew Interns to join our team. This is a hands on, field based internship designed for individuals interested in outdoor work and learning commercial landscape maintenance operations.

The intern will work alongside experienced crew members maintaining commercial properties across Colorado. This role is physically active and ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, being part of a team, and taking pride in visible results.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with mowing, trimming, edging, and maintaining turf to company standards
• Pull and manage weeds manually and with approved treatments under supervision
• Trim shrubs, prune hedges, and maintain plant beds according to DCPS standards
• Blow leaves and debris from walkways, parking lots, and landscaped areas
• Collect trash and maintain overall site cleanliness
• Water plants and turf as directed
• Assist with loading, unloading, and maintaining landscape equipment and vehicles
• Safely operate hand tools and landscape equipment under supervision
• Maintain professionalism when interacting with clients, coworkers, and the public
• Support snow removal operations during winter months when assigned
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment

Qualifications

• Strong interest in outdoor work and landscaping
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Ability to use mobile phone applications for time tracking and communication
• Valid driver’s license preferred but not required
• Previous landscaping experience is a plus but not required

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
• Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive motion
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and light precipitation
• Ability to safely operate landscape tools and equipment

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Pay Range: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour
