The Landscaping Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall health, cleanliness, and appearance of landscaped areas throughout Siesta Dunes Condominium Association. This role focuses on plant care, landscape detailing, and property beautification. Lawn mowing is performed by a separate contractor and is not part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Trim, prune, and shape shrubs, hedges, palms, and ornamental plants.
- Remove weeds from landscape beds, sidewalks, curbs, driveways and common areas.
- Maintain mulch beds including edging and replenishing mulch as needed.
- Plant and replace flowers, shrubs, and other landscape materials.
- Remove dead or damaged plants and maintain healthy plant growth.
- Monitor irrigation systems and report issues such as broken heads or leaks.
- Collect and remove landscape debris including palm fronds, branches, and leaves.
- Maintain cleanliness of landscaped areas including walkways and decorative beds.
- Assist with seasonal planting and landscape improvement projects.
- Identify plant health issues, pests, or diseases and report them to management.
- Safely operate landscaping tools and equipment.
- Other maintenance tasks as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager, as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in landscaping, horticulture, or grounds maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge of Florida plants, palms, shrubs, and tropical landscaping.
- Ability to safely operate landscaping tools such as hedge trimmers, pruners, blowers, and hand tools.
- Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining attractive landscapes.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work outdoors for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (mulch bags, plant materials, equipment).
- Comfortable working in heat, humidity, and occasional rain.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday, 7am to 3pm
- May include periodic weekend work for seasonal projects or storm cleanup.
Compensation
- Starting Pay $20/hour
- Benefits available after 90 days of FT employment
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
