Laravel Backend Developer — APIs & Microservices (Mid) — Night Shift — Gulshan-e-iqbal , Karachi

Role summary — real product work (not agency)

Join our in-house US product engineering team. You will build scalable backend APIs, optimize database performance, and own feature integrations for two active in-house products. Expect hands-on mentorship from the CTO and direct impact on product roadmaps.

What you’ll own

• Design and build RESTful APIs and microservices in Laravel.
• Debug, profile, and optimize slow queries (MySQL).
• Implement background processing, queues, and caching strategies (Redis).
• Integrate third-party services (payment gateways, external APIs) reliably.
• Write unit/integration tests, participate in code reviews, and improve CI/CD.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and monitoring/alerts.

Must-have (apply only if)

• 2+ years professional experience with Laravel & PHP.
• Comfortable writing JOIN queries and using Eloquent effectively.
• Experience with Docker, Redis (or equivalent), and basic AWS concepts.
• Practical experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Able to attend on-site night shift in Gulistan-e-Johar.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with queue workers, caching strategies, job scheduling.
• Familiarity with performance profiling and observability tools.
• Prior work on US-facing products or high-traffic APIs.
