WCF, an "A" rated insurance carrier growing across the western United States, is seeking an experienced claims professional to join our Commercial Property team as a Large Loss Property General Adjuster.
This position offers hybrid work, with the flexibility to be based near one of WCF's offices in Sandy, Utah; Las Vegas, Nevada; Denver, Colorado; or Phoenix, Arizona. Responsibilities
This role is responsible for independently managing high‑severity, complex commercial property claims across Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Arizona from first notice of loss through final resolution. The work involves thorough investigation, detailed coverage analysis, coordination with vendors, and clear communication with stakeholders. Frequent multi‑state travel and on‑site claim management within this region are essential functions of the position.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing a portfolio of large loss commercial property claims with significant financial exposure

Traveling regularly throughout Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Arizona to conduct on-site inspections, investigations, and meetings

Conducting detailed investigations to determine cause of loss, scope of damage, and coverage applicability

Interpreting and applying complex commercial property policies, endorsements, and sub-limits

Establishing, monitoring, and adjusting accurate reserves throughout the claim lifecycle

Negotiating and resolving claims within authority and escalating recommendations when appropriate

Evaluating repair scopes and contractor estimates; reconciling variances and validating costs

Managing business income and extra expense claims in coordination with forensic accountants

Engaging, directing, and overseeing vendors including engineers, consultants, contractors, and forensic specialists

Communicating coverage decisions and key claim developments to insureds, brokers, attorneys, and internal partners

Identifying and pursuing subrogation and recovery opportunities

Participating in catastrophe response and surge support as needed

Serving as a technical resource and supporting best practices within the claims organization
The ideal candidate for this position will have:

At least eight years of progressive commercial property claims adjusting experience, with a strong emphasis on large loss or complex claims

Prior General Adjuster or Senior Large Loss Adjuster experience preferred

In-depth knowledge of commercial property coverages and large loss claim resolution

Experience handling multi-state claims, particularly within Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Arizona (preferred)

Strong investigation, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including in field environments

Proficiency with claims management systems and estimating platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Xactimate)

Professional insurance designations such as AIC, CPCU, SCLA, or ARM preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems

Ability and willingness to travel frequently within Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Arizona, including overnight travel

Valid Driver's License
An internal candidate must have six months in their current position, acceptable job performance, and must notify their current supervisor that they have applied for the position.
Compensation
Expected salary for this position is dependent upon education, experience, complexity of claims knowledge, and individual qualifications - between $100,000 and $130,000 annually.
