Laser Engraving Assistant – Graphic Design & Photo Editing

Location: Somerville, MA (in-person)

Hours: Starting at ~10 hours/week, with potential to grow to 15–20 hours/week

Are you a creative, detail-oriented individual who loves animals and wants hands-on experience with laser engraving and graphic design? We’re hiring a Part-Time Graphic Design & Engraving Assistant to help produce custom pet portraits and other unique engraved products. This entry-level role is perfect for someone excited to learn new skills in photo editing and laser engraving while contributing to meaningful, personalized products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit and prepare customer-submitted images for engraving using Canva and other graphic tools
• Assist with laser engraving production and finishing of custom items
• Ensure quality control and attention to detail on all products
• Collaborate on design adjustments to optimize engraving outcomes
• Maintain an organized and efficient workspace
• Support general production and creative tasks as needed

Must Have Requirements

• Must be able to commute to office: 43 Summer St, Somerville, MA
• Reliable transportation and punctuality required
• Willingness to take on additional hours in the future as workload increases

Qualifications:

• Experience with Canva or similar graphic design software
• Enthusiasm for learning photo editing and laser engraving techniques
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to take initiative
• Genuine love for animals – role involves working with custom pet portraits
• Reliable and able to commute to Somerville, MA

Preferred (but not required):

• Experience with Photoshop, Lightroom, or other photo editing software
• Prior production, crafting, or creative work experience
