POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for gathering, washing, drying, folding and distributing laundry for assigned location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Gather soiled laundry from the nursing care areas and transport to the Laundry area.

2. Wash, dry, and fold all laundry. Return all laundered items to the nursing care areas, ensuring placement in the proper locations.

3. When handling individual resident’s laundry, ensure it is laundered and returned appropriately.

4. As required, provide services in the Housekeeping area.

5. Report all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident concerns to the appropriate Management/Supervisory staff in a timely manner.

6. May be required to work independently or assist others in the cleaning of other facilities or residences of the organization.

7. This position will adhere to the environmental and infection control standards established by OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.

8. May be required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position which will not significantly alter the job requirements.

9. Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant it using good judgement and ethical conduct.

10 Able to organize, prioritize, and manage time, multiple tasks and projects.

11. Able to meet the physical demands and working environment of the position.

12. Able to follow procedures.

Education and/or Experience

• One or more years of laundry experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.

Will be scheduled based on the operational need (rotate shift, standby, on-call). This position is scheduled to work every other weekend.
