Role Overview
The Laundry Technician is responsible for the efficient and high-quality processing of all linen, uniforms, and guest garments in line with established hospitality standards. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to hygiene and presentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate industrial washing, drying, pressing, and finishing equipment safely and efficiently
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and store linen, towels, uniforms, and guest garments according to property standards
- Inspect items for stains, damage, or wear and apply appropriate pre-treatment or remediation
- Maintain accurate records of laundry volumes, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance logs
- Ensure correct chemical dosing and handling in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Deliver processed linen and garments to designated departments in a timely manner
- Report equipment faults, maintenance needs, or supply shortages to the supervisor promptly
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
- Assist with stock counts, linen inventory management, and discard/replacement reporting
- Adhere to all hygiene, safety, and environmental policies including proper chemical storage and disposal
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience operating commercial or industrial laundry equipment preferred
- Knowledge of fabric types, washing temperatures, and care label instructions
- Familiarity with laundry chemicals, dosing systems, and safe handling procedures
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads
- Strong attention to detail with a quality-first mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet time-sensitive output targets
- Team player with a reliable and disciplined approach to shift-based work
- Basic English literacy; ability to read labels, instructions, and safety data sheets
Education & Experience
- Secondary school education or equivalent
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a laundry or housekeeping role, preferably within hospitality
- Relevant vocational training or certification is an advantage
