The Department of the Prosecuting Attorney, City and County of Honolulu, is recruiting Law Clerks that are planning to take the Hawaii bar exam or are awaiting Hawaii bar exam results. If you are hired as a Law Clerk, you are essentially hired as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, the Department is just waiting for you to pass the Hawaii bar exam. Law Clerks will be immediately hired as Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys upon passage of the Hawaii bar exam.

The current salary for the Law Clerk position is $75,000.00/annually, and it is set to increase annually. The Law Clerk position comes with full benefits.

Employment as a Law Clerk is contingent upon receiving a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school. Those in their final year of law school are encouraged to apply, as they may receive an official job offer before the end of their school year.

During your employment with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney, you will receive regular annual pay increases and additional pay increases as you progress through the various areas of criminal law. You will also be able to pursue promotional opportunities to become a Team Captain or Division Chief for the Department.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys’ salaries currently start at $98,124 annually.
