Lawn Care Technician

The key responsibility of this position is to apply fertilizers and control products to turf grass and ornamental shrubs to help them thrive in the landscape. Apply fertilizer, insecticides, and fungicides to plants. Spray properties for fleas, ticks and mosquitos. We are offering a competitive salary for this position. Pay determined by experience and performance. You will need to be able to diagnose diseases and insects that affect the lawns and shrubs of customers. We can train you and hone your skills along the way to make you better. You should have basic knowledge of lawn care fertilizer spreading and or spraying. Your responsibilities could include:

• Apply products to lawns to promote growth and remove weeds
• Operate ride-on sprayer/spreader equipment safely and accurately in performance of the job.
• Spray fertilizer and insecticides on ornamental shrubs to keep them healthy.
• Preform core aerations and over seeding for our customers in spring and fall if needed.
• Must be able to identify weeds and different turf species.
• Be able to calibrate application equipment.
• Mix fertilizer and control products according to label rates.
• Spray properties to reduce flea, tick and mosquito populations.
• Maintain a clean work truck, light sweeping if needed at the end of the day and removal of garbage.
• Snow plow work availabe in the winter months if you want.

Other Requirements:

• NJ driver’s license required
• Ability to maintain valid applicator license, an operators license can be obtained while you're studying for an applicators license.
• Ability to lift 50lbs and work in a variety of weather conditions.
• You are self-driven and a team player.
• Ability to stay on task.

Compensation:

• Hourly Salary (Monday-Friday, weekend work available in the Spring and Fall)
• Overtime available

• Pay: Based on experience

Experience:

• Snow plowing: 1 year (Preferred)
• Landscaping: 1 year (Preferred)
• Lawn care: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Pesticide Applicator’s License (Preferred)
