Lawn Crew

Position Summary:

The Lawn Crew is responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a business or building. This role plants flowers, mows, pulls weeds, and maintains outside of building.

Scheduled Hours:

Typical work hours will be Monday through Thursday (7:00 am to 3:00 pm) and Fridays 8am-12pm.

Position Duties:

• Perform grounds keeping and building maintenance duties.
• Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawnmower.
• Cut lawn using hand, power, or riding mower.
• Trim and edge around walkways, flowerbeds, and walls.
• Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
• Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others.
• Apply fertilizer to the ground to enhance growth.
• Sweep walkway of debris.
• Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
• Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.
• Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
• Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer.
• Work in other areas as needed (Cajun Village, Throw Me Something Mister, and anywhere else needed).
• Complete trash pick-up, maintain fire hydrant(s), and delivery/pick-ups for Cajun Village.
• Performs other duties as deemed appropriate and as assigned by Director of Transportation and Maintenance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Prior experience or work in lawn maintenance (preferred).
• Valid Driver's License/Chauffeur's License

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Familiarity with common landscaping equipment.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Ability to organize, multi-task, plan, and set priorities.
• Ability to work independently and in team settings.
• Ability to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to questions both verbally and written.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently required to stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift upwards of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, lift, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in indoors and outdoors environment including hot and cold weather.

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
