Lawn Maintenance Crew Leader

The Lawn Maintenance Crew Leader is responsible for leading a lawn maintenance crew in providing high-quality mowing and landscape maintenance services. This position requires operating commercial equipment, managing crew members, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely, and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a crew of 1-4 employees.
  • Perform and oversee mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and general lawn maintenance services.
  • Ensure all properties meet company quality standards before leaving the site.
  • Train crew members on proper equipment operation, safety procedures, and job expectations.
  • Maintain daily productivity goals and route schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding job progress, equipment issues, customer concerns, and employee performance.
  • Conduct daily inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is fueled, maintained, and secured at the end of each workday.
  • Complete required paperwork, time tracking, and job documentation accurately.
  • Enforce company safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Address minor customer questions and concerns professionally in the field.
  • Report accidents, property damage, equipment damage, and employee incidents immediately.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of commercial lawn maintenance experience.
  • Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to operate commercial mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, and related equipment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
