*HOW YOU CAN HELP US*

As ABC’s Lawn Mechanic, primary objective is to be responsible for the maintenance of all equipment used by the Specialists. Professional behavior is expected at all times while at work when dealing with Specialists requests or vendors. Listens to associate’s concerns in regards lawn equipment and vehicles; provides and suggest proper solutions to address their concerns.

*WHAT YOU’LL DO*

  • Uses test equipment such as pressure testing and other tools to identify equipment problems.
  • Must have the ability to read equipment manuals, understand and follow instructions for disassembling and reassembling equipment. Repairs malfunctioning equipment efficiently in a timely fashion.
  • Makes adjustments to outdoor equipment, calibrates, cleans and lubricates equipment. Changes worn belts, sharpens blades, and picks up parts and machines from various vendors.
  • Follows routine maintenance schedules of all equipment according to specifications for optimal performance.
  • Keeps records for inspections and parts used.
  • Obtains approval for major repairs and proposes replacement whenever necessary.
  • Uses personal protective equipment at all times as is required by safety standards and for prevention purposes.
  • Meets deadlines of work assigned and informs Service Manager of all delayed work.
  • Responsible for knowing and following all company and department policies and protocols, including the PTO policy.
  • Attend required department meetings and company or vendor training as required.
  • Your readiness to work on Saturday is obligatory when work is not completed during normal work days.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in training provided by the company or the manufacturers.
  • Be a Team Player, assisting branch managers in maintaining the warehouse in neat, clean, operational condition.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Requirements:

*WHAT WE LOOK FOR*

  • 3 years experience or more.
  • Basic knowledge of small equipment repair, maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to work with and distinguish various types of tools used for equipment repair.
  • Must be able to communicate with members at all levels of the organization and customers.
  • Dependable and self-motivated with desire to work year-round.
  • High school diploma or GED is desired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WITH OR WITHOUT ACCOMMODATIONS ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in extreme temperatures including outdoors.
  • Crawl under equipment and work for long periods of time on the knees.
  • Repetitive lifting, twisting, pulling, pushing and carry up to 50-80 lbs. may be required.
  • Ability to carry a 15 lb. backpack throughout the day.
  • Handles power tools, drills, saws, etc.

DRIVER’S RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to drive a vehicle with standard or automatic gear and enter and exit a truck.
  • Using a company vehicle drives the Lawn Maintenance Crew to destinations listed on the daily route.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of company vehicle such as tire conditions, tire replacement whenever needed, checks for condition of brakes, gets oil change done in a timely basis, etc.
  • Follows safety protocols while driving, respects driving regulations and codes and reports all work related injuries and vehicle accidents immediately to Service Manager or Division Manager.
  • Complies with vehicle policy agreement.
  • Maintain good driving record.
  • Reports any auto accident to Service Manager within 1 hour of accident.
  • Must maintain an active Texas Driver’s license and submit copy of renewed license to HR.
