Lawson Support Assistant


Position Summary

This position is the assistant to the Director of Materials Management Information Systems to help run the Lawson HelpDesk and office for the Supply Chain Administration department. Lawson is our financial system where users in the hospital create requisitions in Lawson to place orders for their department. This position will assist in answering the phones for the Lawson helpdesk helping with any questions that users may have while using the system, create and updating item numbers in Lawson, assist with the Lawson training classes by creating and maintain the class calendar and handling all the paperwork that goes with the training, running queries in the system and keeping our policies updated when needed.


Duties of a Lawson Support Assistant may include the following but are not limited to:

  • Answer phone calls for the Lawson Helpdesk helping users with any questions or inquiries on how to use the Lawson system. Inquiries could be in reference to how to place an order in the system, how much money they have to use to place an order, how much money they have to spend, about an item in system, or an invoice.
  • Create and update items in the Lawson system, work with Purchasing to get approval for any item request changes and file paperwork
  • Create reports using Microsoft Access pulling the information from Lawson.
  • Create item templates for users to help them place orders in Lawson
  • Create Lawson training calendar, assist training class by printing out class roster and handing out paperwork
  • Run query request using Microsoft Excel Add-ins and Crystal reporting
  • Update department Policy as needed


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree and at least 1 year working in a hospital or health care setting or, in lieu of degree, at least 3 years working in a hospital or health care setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Customer service experience
  • Teamwork experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Lawson experience
  • Administrative experience
  • Microsoft Project experience
  • Crystal Reporting experience

Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements:


  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.

  • The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position is - $49,309 - $60,489 / year.

The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.

Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as:

  • Location pay for UUP full-time positions ($4000)
