Job Summary
Coordinates and leads the activities for designated work area. Activities include managing inventory accurately and safely in the effort of meeting or exceeding customer and company requirements. Leads by example in these activities and assists supervisor with managing, directing and training the warehouse associates.
Job Duties
- Lead day-to-day work activities, readily respond to team members’ issues and concerns and ensure all Distribution tasks are completed according to customer requirements and company standards
- Assist in operating machinery and provide additional support to fill resource gaps in designated department when needed
- Assign routine tasks to team members, audit the quality and accuracy of their work, and provide coaching when appropriate
- Train new hires and provide information to Manager and Supervisor regarding their progress and unique learning needs
- Monitor performance, report issues, and provide input into review process
- Assist in preparing warehouse for customer visits, audits (both internal and external), tours, etc.
- Assist with productivity monitoring, data input, and reporting
- Move materials, supplies, and finished goods inventory to/from designated storage locations using radio frequency (RF) and lift truck equipment
- Utilize JDE, RFS, and RF technology to transact the movement of inventory and ship product
- Pick, label, stage, wrap, and load orders/shipments
- Assist in administering and auditing Housekeeping Program
- Inspect materials, final products and machinery for defects
- Implement process improvement initiatives as needed
- Ensure that department output meets organizational expectation
- Guide the manufacturing/operations team in interpreting existing processes and policies and assist in the development of efficiencies or process improvements
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Education
- Perform work under minimal supervision
- Handle complex issues and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
- Possess comprehensive working knowledge of subject matter
- 4 to 6 years of experience, including experience driving powered industrial equipment
- Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
- Powered industrial equipment certification preferred
