Job Summary
We are a Reggio-inspired, play-based preschool seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lead Preschool Teacher to oversee our 3- and 4-year-old classroom. In this vital role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment that promotes early childhood development and fosters a love for learning. As the leader of your classroom, you will implement innovative curriculum plans, manage daily activities, and support the social-emotional growth of each child. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dynamic, developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to preschool-aged children, incorporating literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods when applicable.
- Plan and execute daily lesson plans that promote exploration, creativity, and critical thinking while aligning with educational standards.
- Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, organized, and stimulating environment conducive to learning and social interaction.
- Utilize effective behavior management strategies to support positive behavior and address individual needs, including those related to special education or early intervention.
- Foster strong communication with parents and guardians through regular updates on progress, developmental milestones, and classroom events.
- Support children’s emotional welfare by promoting social skills, conflict resolution, and self-regulation techniques.
- Lead classroom team members by providing mentorship, guidance on classroom management practices, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across various subjects including literacy education, math, physical education, and childcare best practices.
- Prior classroom management experience with toddlers or preschoolers in daycare or private school environments.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and special education accommodations.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures for early learners and tutoring strategies to support individual student needs.
- Experience implementing Montessori or other specialized educational approaches is a plus.
- Strong communication skills essential for collaborating with families, colleagues, and community partners.
