Overview:
As the Lead Academy Doctor at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will lead the medical provision for all academy players, ensuring high standards of care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. Your leadership will be vital in shaping a safe, healthy, and high-performance environment for our young athletes while coordinating closely with other medical and performance staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management

Lead the delivery of medical services in consultation with the Academy Technical Director

Establish and maintain administrative and communication systems for efficient medical service

Oversee clinic operations, including management of equipment, supplies, and orders
-
Guide and supervise the Academy Physiotherapists, ensuring high-quality care plans

Review and evaluate return-to-play rehabilitation programs for alignment with best practices
Medical Assessments and Interventions

Coordinate hospital transfers and ensure timely medical interventions

Conduct screenings and assessments for all Academy players

Provide emergency care during matches and training sessions

Design and implement injury prevention strategies across age groups
Collaboration

Collaborate with multidisciplinary departments to foster a safe and supportive environment

Maintain clear, empathetic communication with players and families

Serve as a liaison between the Academy and external medical providers
Other

Support departmental disciplinary processes when required

Ensure CPD standards and training compliance across the medical team

Undertake other duties as assigned by the Academy Technical Director
Qualifications:
Essential:
-
Master’s Degree in Sports Science, Medicine or a related area
Desirable:
-
PhD in Sports Science, Medicine, or related specialization
-
Additional specializations in areas such as Orthopedics, Rehabilitation, Radiology, Nutrition, or Biomechanics
-
FIFA Guardian safeguarding qualification
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
-
Significant experience in a medical leadership role within professional sport, ideally football
-
Proven expertise in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sports injuries
-
Experience leading and managing medical teams and interdisciplinary collaboration
-
Skilled in ultrasound imaging and ultrasound-guided procedures
-
Deep understanding of rehabilitation and return-to-play processes
-
Proven ability to work with elite athletes in a high-performance setting

Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments
-
Fluent in English; Arabic and Spanish are an advantage
Desirable:
-
Previous professional experience in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East
