This position is located at our corporate office in Raleigh, NC. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented lead accountant with the ability to thrive in our fast paced, growing organization. This individual must be able to identify and resolve problems both independently and as a part of a team. Effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization along with strong organizational and time management ability are also required.
Responsibilities:

Manage the staff accountants for regional operations.

Assist in managing the month-end close process.

Work closely with regional management on analysis of operating results.

Review journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring adherence to strong procedures and documentation.

Perform and review standard and ad-hoc analysis.

Evaluate and recommend new approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficiencies.

Manage support related to internal and external audit requests.

Acquire a strong knowledge of the business.

Document and maintain account procedures and processes.

Monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting; CPA required.

7 years of accounting experience or equivalent experience including a Master’s in accounting and CPA certification; Prior public accounting experience preferred

Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Must be a self-starter and a quick learner who can work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; JD Edwards skills desirable.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

Detail-oriented with effective verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity.

Manufacturing or construction and inventory accounting experience a plus.
