What you will accomplish in this role

Our Digital Transformation and Innovation (DT&I) team is accelerating this mission—integrating cutting‑edge digital capabilities and AI technologies directly into clinical workflows to improve outcomes, empower providers, and elevate the care experience for millions.

We’re looking for a Lead AI Engineer with deep, hands-on expertise in Palantir Foundry and Palantir’s Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) to shape and deliver high-impact AI solutions at scale. This is a unique opportunity to lead enterprise-level AI initiatives that directly support clinicians and drive meaningful, measurable change in healthcare.

What you will do in this role -

As a Lead AI Engineer, you will:

• Serve as the technical lead partnering with clinical, operational, and business stakeholders to deliver mission‑critical AI applications in a fast-paced, high‑visibility environment.
• Architect and implement complex Palantir Foundry solutions, from Ontology design to end-to-end workflow execution.
• Design and deploy LLM-powered agents, intelligent workflows, and decision-support systems using Foundry and AIP.
• Develop scalable data pipelines and production-grade workflows to support ML, GenAI, and enterprise analytics.
• Build, fine‑tune, evaluate, and operationalize AI/ML models embedded directly within Foundry’s ecosystem.
• Establish and uphold MLOps best practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, governance, and performance management.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate closely with engineering leadership to shape long-term AI strategy and roadmaps.

What qualifications you will need -

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field — Required
• Master’s degree — Preferred

Experience:

• 7+ years in software engineering with a focus on AI/ML engineering — Required
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in Palantir Foundry in production environments — Required
• Demonstrated success leading engineering teams and delivering in Agile environments — Required

Certifications:

• Palantir certifications (Foundry Data Engineer, Solution Architect, or Application Developer) — Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Behaviors -

We’re looking for someone with:

• Extensive experience building Foundry data pipelines, Ontology models, Workshop applications, and operational workflows.
• Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark/Spark, and advanced SQL.
• Hands-on experience developing, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML models in production.
• Proven experience with Generative AI / LLM-based systems and enterprise scaling patterns.
• Expertise in ETL/ELT data engineering, especially using Foundry, Python, and SQL.
• Experience delivering solutions in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, etc.).
• Bonus: Frontend development skills using TypeScript and React.

• Remote (U.S. Only) - M-F, 8am – 5pm - Central Time

Travel Required:

• This job requires travel to Nashville, TN to attend final in-person interview, 3-day New Hire Orientation, quarterly team meetings, and other travel on an as-needed basis
