Lead AI Engineer - Data Reliability

A Snapshot of your day

Your day involves designing, building, and operating intelligent systems that monitor, diagnose, and optimize enterprise data pipelines, with a focus on energy operations and power plant environments such as Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPPs). You leverage AI engineering expertise and a reliability mindset to ensure high-quality, trusted data at scale while using GenAI technologies to enhance productivity, documentation quality, and knowledge accessibility across various teams, all while maintaining safety, compliance, and engineering integrity.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Design, build, and operate AI-driven systems for data monitoring, diagnostics, root cause analysis, and automated remediation, ensuring data reliability and quality at scale.
  • Develop and integrate AI agents with ETL pipelines, data platforms, and enterprise systems, while collaborating with data engineering, platform, and operations teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Siemens Energy’s responsible AI policies, prioritizing safety, ethics, cybersecurity, and regulatory standards.
  • Educate stakeholders on AI limitations, such as hallucinations, contextual uncertainty, and appropriate use in engineering processes.
  • Apply domain knowledge of Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) operations, including gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG processes, and operational risk management.
  • Enable AI-supported knowledge access and analysis across diverse documentation sources, enhancing information retrieval, summarization, and cross-document insights.

What You Bring

  • Education & Technical Expertise: Advanced degree in computer science, data engineering, or related field with extensive experience in AI/ML engineering, multi-agent frameworks, LLM-based systems, Python, SQL, ETL pipelines, data warehouses, and cloud platforms.
  • AI & Data Engineering: Proficient in agentic AI frameworks, LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, data reliability, observability tools, anomaly detection, and automation of data pipelines.
  • Industry Experience: Strong background in energy, utilities, or industrial environments, with exposure to power plant operations (preferably CCPP) and enterprise documentation systems like CMMS, DMS, and technical repositories.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with reliability engineering, DataOps, MLOps, diagnostic AI systems, and industrial data environments, with a focus on digital transformation, AI enablement, and automation.
  • Domain Knowledge & Quality Focus: Deep understanding of asset-intensive operational processes, CCPP operations, and documentation practices, combined with a strong safety, quality, and compliance mindset.
  • Communication & Consulting Skills: Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder enablement skills, with a structured, analytical, and service-oriented working style.
