About the Role

Total Wine & More is seeking a Lead Analyst, Compensation to join our Human Resources team in our Bethesda, MD office. The Lead Compensation Analyst is responsible for designing, analyzing, implementing and administering Total Wine & More's compensation programs. The Lead Analyst works closely with the Head of Total Rewards, HR Partners, and department heads on compensation philosophies, programs, policies, and practices, providing information and tools to effectively meet our team members’ and the company's financial objectives. They act as the primary resource on complex cases and serve as an expert in compensation matters. The Lead Analyst conducts job and market analysis to determine pay ranges and Fair Standards Act status of positions. This role is also responsible for ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies. You will report into the Senior Director, Total Rewards and Compliance.

You will

  • Work with internal & external partners to design, develop, and administer the organization's
  • compensation plans, including base pay, and various types of incentive and recognition plans.
  • Help drive the short- and long-term compensation strategy including, but not limited to, market position,
  • career framework, compensation structure, grouping, change management, and education.
  • Lead Annual Review Cycle including design, administration, distribution, and communication.
  • Present compensation insights and recommendations to stakeholders in all parts of the business.
  • Conduct job evaluations, FLSA assessments, and ad hoc departmental compensation reviews.
  • Manages salary survey completion, submission, and data analysis.
  • Leads or contributes to projects that support the organization's strategic priorities.

You will come with

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline. preferred
  • or equivalent years of experience
  • 3-6 years Compensation administration role or similar. preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Thorough understanding of HRIS systems. Workday experience a plus. (High proficiency)
  • Strong analytical, project management, and program development skills.
  • Strategic initiative: ability to identify issues, develop recommendations, sell ideas, and implement the solution.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. (Medium proficiency)
  • Frequently monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting HR. (Medium proficiency)
