The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $103,939.20 to $129,924.00.
Job Summary
The Lead Analyst – Projects, Financial Reporting is responsible for all aspects of internal management reporting, planning and budgeting in support of the Projects group. The Lead Analyst position plays an important role in a very demanding environment, with particular focus on supporting the provision of management reporting and data analysis to senior management at CMP. The successful individual will be required to understand all aspects of the organization encompassing construction, operations, and support functions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular financial analysis using SAP to support project and business decisions.
  • Research and explain budget variances and financial trends; recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage and support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Prepare transactional adjustments in SAP in the production of periodic processes and maintain robust records of these activities.
  • Support audits and reporting requirements related to project setup, financial transactions, and compliance.
  • Assist in the development of US GAAP reporting and its reconciliation.
  • Provide suitable, financial support to the business functions and understand the nature of their environments and the financial implications of actions.
  • Perform PO reviews and audits to ensure alignment with forecast estimates.
  • Verify appropriate project approval levels prior to initiating WBS element creation.
  • Maintain accurate records of project approvals, WBS requests, and budget modifications.
  • Ensure adherence to financial governance standards and investment approval protocols.
  • Investigate and resolve SAP-related issues affecting project data, reporting, or budget tracking.
  • Support data validation and reconciliation efforts within SAP to ensure data integrity.
  • Submit and monitor IT access requests for project team members across relevant systems.
  • Troubleshoot access and application issues related to project controls tools.
  • Liaise with internal support teams to ensure timely resolution of system and access issues.
  • Collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups in control, accounting, contracts, and invoicing.
  • Ensure accounting processes are SOX compliant through review of existing controls and new processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Avangrid financial policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • CPA license and/or graduate business degree.
  • 8+ years’ experience in industry or public accounting relevant to job requirements
  • Sound understanding of US GAAP/IFRS, including application.
  • Strong experience with SAP
  • Experience of intricate planning and consolidation systems
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the corporate hierarchy on written and oral interfaces.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled to work independently with management oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An additional 5+ years’ experience in industry or public accounting relevant to job requirements
