Key Responsibilities
Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analyze customer purchasing behavior, sales data, and competitor activity to identify trends and opportunities.
Strategy Development: Create and implement data-driven strategies for product assortment, pricing, and promotions to meet business goals.
Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, secure favorable terms, and collaborate on joint business plans.
Product Assortment & Merchandising: Determine the ideal mix of products within the category, including planning product placement, display, and overall shelf layout.
Performance Monitoring: Continuously track and evaluate category performance against sales budgets and market trends, making adjustments as needed.
Sales and Promotion: Develop effective selling and marketing strategies, including promotional events, pricing initiatives, and advertising campaigns.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure sufficient product availability while minimizing holding costs and considering lead times.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, such as sales, marketing, and supply chain, to align category strategies with broader business initiatives.
