Geo's Tavern, the latest project from Chef Dan Jackson and Giorgios Bakatsias is looking for a dynamic hospitality professional to lead our bar program.
Géos is designed to be a comfortable yet vibrant gathering place rooted in familiarity, conversation, and community. Géos Tavern is centered on heartfelt hospitality and an ingredient-forward approach tocooking. The menu focuses on thoughtfully executed tavern food and locally sourced ingredients, paired with a diverse tap lineup, lively cocktail list, and a curated wineprogram.
The right candidate will have equal passion for hospitality, beverage, and operations. Geo's Bar Lead will work closely with the management team on bar-related operations and development tasks, including beverage inventory and ordering, supervising service, updating POS, menu development and pricing, coordinating with vendors, and enforcing standards of cleanliness.
Responsibilities:
- Craft and serve a diverse range of culturally-relevant beverages including cocktails, wines, and other specialty drinks, to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
- Collaborate closely with the management team to develop and execute innovative beverage programs that align with the restaurant's concept and clientele.
- Oversee bar operations, including inventory management, stock rotation, and maintaining par levels to ensure optimal supply and minimize waste.
- Place orders for beverage inventory in a timely manner, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing.
- Work alongside management team to recruit, retain, and train bar service team.
- Work alongside management team to deliver ongoing beverage and service education, ensuring all team members reach their full potential.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization standards in the bar area, including equipment maintenance, sanitation, and adherence to hygiene protocols.
- Attend regular management meetings.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in bartending, with a proven track record in bar management preferred (i.e. inventory control, ordering, cost management)
- Thorough knowledge of main beverage categories; proficient knowledge of wine preferred.
- Be a great problem solver, with ability to think on your feet.
- Be an effective and to-the-point communicator.
- Impeccable organization and time-management skills.
- Proficient with Google Suite including Google Drive and Google Sheets.
- Experience with Toast POS preferred.
- Evening and weekend availability.
- A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license are required.
- Be able to be on your feet for 6-9 hours, reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
