Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher to join our team at Triple R, focusing on children ages 2-3. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that fosters the growth and development of children. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of childhood development, and the ability to implement effective curriculum strategies. The Lead Teacher will work closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure that each child receives the support they need to thrive. Responsibilities
- Curriculum Planning and Implementation: Implement age-appropriate lessons and activities aligned with developmental goals and the center's curriculum. This includes creating daily schedules, lesson plans, and ensuring a balanced mix of activities.
- Classroom Setup: Organize the physical layout of the classroom to create a welcoming, stimulating, and safe learning environment. This includes setting up activity areas, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring resources are accessible.
- Direct Instruction: Teach and guide children through planned activities, facilitating hands-on learning and encouraging engagement. Lead teachers are responsible for teaching foundational skills (e.g., language, social skills, motor skills) and fostering creativity through art, music, and play.
- Compliance and Licensing: Ensure classroom operations comply with state licensing regulations and the center’s policies, especially around ratios, safety guidelines, and reporting requirements.
- Daily Communication with Parents: Keep parents informed of their child’s daily activities, progress, and any incidents. Use the Brightwheel app to upload photos and other important notifications. Make yourself available to parents coming into the classroom for pick-up and drop-off when possible.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers, administrative staff, and the center director to ensure the smooth operation of the facility and cohesion of the program.
- Sanitation and Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the classroom, including regular disinfection of toys, surfaces, and materials according to state health guidelines.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- A valid fingerprint clearance card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety
- Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain one
- (Preferred): An associate degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, or a related field. Or a Child Development Associate credential or other recognized early childhood education certification
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential.
- Lead teachers should have a strong knowledge of early childhood development stages and the ability to adapt teaching methods to support each child’s growth and development
- Lead teachers should have the skills to create a structured, positive learning environment, manage behavior, and enforce rules in a way that fosters social-emotional development
Job Type: Full-time
