Responsibilities:
- Performs patient registration and lab test order entry for both outpatient and outreach patient specimens.

Provides clerical and receptionist support.

Acts as a resource for Laboratory information.

Trains Outreach Registrar Clerks and Lab Assistants.

Provides Patient Order/Registration Audit Support.

Obtains routine and special collection blood specimens following established procedures, established time frames, and safety requirements.
- Labels, receives, and distributes specimens in the laboratory.

Ensures quality control, maintenance, and performance improvement indicators are documented
Qualifications:
Education
-
High school education or equivalent GED.

Requires some knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience
-
Minimum of one year clerical experience required in a medical/patient care setting.

One year of phlebotomy experience or 1 year of experience in a medical field providing patient care (such as a nursing assistant, medical assistant, nurse technician, etc.) which included drawing blood.

Experience in supply inventory control preferred.

Experience with hospital patient billing, physician office billing or lab billing preferred.

Computer data entry experience preferred.

Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software preferred.

Clinical lab experience preferred.

Patient registration experience preferred.
(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)
Compensation/Benefits

$16.07-$26.25/hr depending on previous work experience.
