Lead Compliance Specialist, India and South Asia,

Job Description Summary

Compliance professionals providing leadership and support to business operations to assure adherence to all aspects of internal company compliance and external regulations with technical remit and expertise that aligns to business needs. Ensures that appropriate mechanisms are in place to comply with industry-specific and other laws and regulations and to company programs and practices for operational deployment of the Compliance program. The successful candidate will be based in Bangalore, India, reporting into the India & South Asia Compliance Manager and will be an empowered member of the GE HealthCare Global Compliance team.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Individual contributor, with proven interpersonal skills, who can work well on a team and communicate with direct colleagues and business partners.

  • Review proposed external engagements and emerging business models and provide feedback/counsel to various business stakeholders who have varying level of experience and knowledge around the subject.

  • Apply compliance judgment to proposed transactions, relationships and other issues requiring review and attention.

  • Review Improper Payment Prevention controls related to HCPs/HCIs and other high-risk transactions.

  • Identify and escalate compliance-related procedural issues and areas of improvement.

  • Represent India & South Asia and the International region on process improvement initiatives or other projects which impact policies, processes, and procedures.

  • Lead employee engagement and training activities for various Compliance processes and initiatives.

  • Coordinating with Global, Regional and Zone compliance leaders and product compliance leads to roll-out and implement compliance priorities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7-8 years’ experience preferably in a Healthcare-related industry.

  • Knowledge level is comparable to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. Legal or Paralegal Degree is an advantage.

  • Technical remit includes demonstrable knowledge on Anti-bribery and Anti-Corruption, Conflicts of Interest, Anti-trust competition, Policies & Industry codes such as UCPMP, UCMPMD, Advamed India and transparency reporting.

  • Strong data analytics skills: ability to locate and analyse facts to determine relevant actions.

  • Ability to operate with due discretion, confidentiality, objectivity and independence.

  • Ability in prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients and drive independently tasks and projects to conclusion in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization with multi segment stakeholders and to facilitate risk-assessment and decision-making.

  • Strong business acumen, ability to detect emerging compliance and industry trends and develop appropriate responses & prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients fast-paced environment.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong oral and written communication in English; Additional language skills will be advantageous.

  • Experience in handling Business tools such as SFDC, SAP or equivalent.

  • Being open to change in response to new information and different or unexpected circumstances.

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply problem-solving and decision-making.

The Lead Compliance Specialist will be responsible for providing support to the GE HealthCare business on a variety of legal and compliance issues and transactions, including high risk payments, appropriate segregation of duties, transparency requirements, compliance with the GE HealthCare internal policies and Med-device Industry codes.
