Role Overview

The Consultant – Business Solutions will ideate, structure, and scale AI-driven Commercial IT, CRM, and Data & Analytics solutions within the life sciences ecosystem, supporting both pre-sales and delivery engagements.

The role operates at the intersection of strategy consulting, solution architecture, and execution. You will apply hypothesis-driven problem solving to ambiguous client problems and convert them into structured solution approaches, Platform aligned architectures, compelling consulting-grade proposal narratives, executive ready decks and business cases and validate feasibility with platform/engineering teams, and support pilot deployments and scaled rollouts.

The role requires close collaboration with platform, engineering, UX, and domain teams to validate feasibility and ensure alignment between what is proposed and what can be delivered, while also supporting pilot deployments and scaled rollouts across brands, therapeutic areas, and geographies.

In addition to solution design and execution, the Consultant will anchor solutioning for RFPs, proposals, client workshops, bid defense, and consulting assignments, helping shape Indegene’s point of view, differentiation, and win themes in high-stakes client situations


This role combines:

Key Responsibilities

1) Hypothesis-Driven Business-Oriented Problem Solving and Strategic Conceptualization/Opportunity Shaping

  • Apply a hypothesis-based approach to structure complex life sciences commercial, CRM, data, and omnichannel problems.
  • Translate ambiguous client questions into clear problem statements, assumptions, hypotheses, and decision paths.
  • Frame opportunities across commercial IT, field force effectiveness, omnichannel engagement, patient services, analytics, and AI.
  • Develop solution concepts grounded in business value, feasibility, and scalability.

2) Consulting Narratives, Storylines & Playbooks

  • Create consulting-grade storylines, high impact decks, narrative and frameworks for leadership, pre-sales, and client discussions.
  • Build templated and reusable outputs including:
  • Solution frameworks
  • Target-state operating models
  • CRM & data architecture narratives
  • KPI trees and value realization models
  • Translate complex technical architectures into simple, decision-oriented executive narratives.
  • Problem → Solution Approach → Technology → Data model → KPIs → Adoption journey.
  • Work with UX & product teams to convert concepts into wireframes, flows, user journeys, and design artifacts.

3) Pre-Sales, RFP & Client Consulting Support

  • Act as a core solutioning partner for RFPs, RFIs, and proactive consulting pursuits.
  • Own or contribute to solution sections including:
  • Client context & problem framing
  • Hypotheses and solution options
  • CRM, data, and AI platform approach
  • Roadmap (MVP → scale), assumptions, risks, and dependencies
  • Support client workshops, solution walkthroughs, and bid defense, articulating recommendations clearly and confidently.
  • Ensure alignment between what is proposed and what can be delivered.

4) Workstream Ownership & Stakeholder Management

  • Independently manage solutioning or consulting workstreams with moderate oversight.
  • Balance multiple parallel initiatives (pre-sales, consulting, pilots) while maintaining output quality.
  • Partner with sales, domain SMEs, UX, data, architecture, and engineering teams.
  • Provide thought partnership on complex or ambiguous problem areas.

5) MVP / POC Execution & Feedback Loops

  • Support rapid prototyping, POCs, and MVP builds with cross-functional teams
  • Define success metrics, adoption criteria, and feedback mechanisms
  • Consolidate feedback loops from users, customers, and internal stakeholders into structured refinements
  • Move solutions from concept → repeatable MVP with clear adoption outcomes → scalable offering

6) Scaling, Institutionalization & Mentorship

  • Replicate successful solutions across brands, therapeutic areas, or geographies.
  • Build onboarding kits, operating models, and governance frameworks.
  • Mentor junior consultants and analysts on:
  • Structured thinking
  • Story lining and deck craft
  • Client communication and consulting hygiene

Life Sciences Domain Expectations

Strong working knowledge of multiple areas such as:

  • Pharma commercial model and field force workflows
  • Omnichannel engagement (CLM, email, events, remote detailing)
  • Patient services and patient support programs
  • Medical, promotional, and compliance considerations
  • HCP/HCO data, consent, preferences, and engagement analytics

Technology & Platform Exposure

CRM & Commercial Platforms

  • Veeva CRM, Vault, PromoMats, Align
  • Salesforce CRM, SFMC, Life Sciences Cloud, Health Cloud
  • CMS and Martech Stacks

Data, Analytics & AI

  • Understanding of APIs, integrations, ETL, data models
  • Understanding of Analytics and measurement frameworks
  • Exposure to AI / GenAI solutions in enterprise workflows
  • Ability to translate technology capabilities into business value

Demonstrable understanding in:

  • Pharma commercial models
  • Patient services
  • CRM transformation
  • Omnichannel engagement
  • Medical communications and compliance
  • Enterprise Tech, Digital and Commercial


Experience & Qualifications: :

  • 6–8 years total experience, with strong exposure to consulting, solutioning, pre-sales, or tech-enabled life sciences domain roles
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and ambiguous problem statements
  • Strong executive communication and consulting storytelling skills
  • Comfortable mentoring junior team members
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science, or Business Technology
  • MBA preferred
