Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant – Catalog & Buying Channel, Specialist

In this role, as part of the P2P Transformation program, the role will be supporting the team for driving enablement of Catalogs and buying channels in Ariba. The role would split their time between driving BAU continuous process improvement and participating in transformational projects to deliver better user experience and efficiency across the entire Source to Pay process.

Responsibilities

• Define optimal buying channels for goods and service based on spend category, transaction profile, and supplier setup
• Lead the identification and prioritization of Catalog opportunities (static and punchout) with suppliers.
• Catalog Strategy: Define and implement catalog strategies, including Punchout and CIF, to enhance user experience.
• Supplier Enablement: Lead supplier onboarding, including training and troubleshooting for catalog submission.
• Content Management: Ensure accuracy of catalog content, pricing, and compliance with contract terms.
• Testing & Validation: Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and technical validation of catalogs.
• Collaboration: Work with procurement teams to align catalog content with category strategies.

Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications

• Strong understanding of category management and buying channels applicable
• Knowledge of static and dynamic catalog formats
• Awareness of category suitability for catalog based procurement
• Ability to coordinate with suppliers to onboard and maintain catalogs
• Skills in defining catalog governance structure
• Ability to plan catalog lifecycle management and define right buying channel per category or transaction type
• Strong grasp of procurement policies and how they translate into channel controls and approvals
• Understanding of end-to-end Source to Pay (S2P) processes such as category management, content enablement, CLM, Sourcing, SRM, and invoicing.
• Experience in SAP modules like SLP, Ariba is a plus
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, multi task, lead through ambiguities, influence where he/she does not have direct authority & build on unstructured formative situations
• Experience in Ariba catalog management or supplier enablement, including experience with Punchout, CIF (Catalog Interchange Format), and cXML.
• In-depth understanding of SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing, Supplier Network, and Guided Buying.
• Proficiency with catalog testing procedures, data validation, supplier onboarding, and ability to troubleshoot catalog loading issues.
• Experience in directly managing suppliers, conducting supplier training, and driving supplier adoption.
• Strong understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P), indirect sourcing, and commodity codes.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (for data management/mapping), PowerPoint, and Ariba configuration interfaces.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, or a related field.
• SAP Ariba certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of ERP integration with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC (via CIG).
• Previous experience with "Big 5" consulting firms.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
