Job Purpose:
To lead contract management activities by providing end-to-end oversight, drive contracting strategy implementation, ensure strong governance, mitigate risks and enable seamless execution of contractual obligations across projects and business unit.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including drafting, review, negotiation and award support, execution, compliance monitoring, amendments and closure.

Act as the main point of contact for complex contractual negotiations with vendors, contractors and partners ensuring commercial and legal alignment.

Identify, assess and mitigate contractual risks by providing advice on risk allocation, indemnities, liquidated damages, warranties and performance obligations.

Provide contract interpretation guidance to internal stakeholders, resolving ambiguities and ensuring consistent understanding across functions.

Drive improvements in contract templates, clauses, governance frameworks and approval processes to strengthen risk controls and responsiveness.

Ensure contract adherence to corporate policies, delegated authorities and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders like legal, procurement, imports, finance, project and operations teams to align contractual terms with business requirements.

Monitor and manage contractual deliverables, milestones, change orders, claims, extensions and performance metrics.

Review and validate contractor/vendor submissions (e.g., claims, variations, invoices) against contract terms.

Support audits, compliance reviews and dispute resolution processes with clear documentation and contractual reasoning.

Guide contract management team members and provide structured feedback for development support.
Qualifications & Skills for Lead :
-
Bachelor’s/ Master's degree in Engineering/ Masters or PG in Management preferable; advanced or professional certification in contracts, procurement or commercial law is preferable.

12-15 years for BE Engineering / 12-13 years in case of BE + MBA of relevant experience in contract management, commercial negotiations and contract risk assessment.

Strong work ethic, understanding of contract structures, risk clauses and contract clauses and requirements like performance guarantees, indemnities, claims management, etc.

Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to influence negotiations, resolve disputes and provide pragmatic contract solutions.

Experience with contract management systems and strong documentation practices.
