QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school graduate

2. Previous cook experience in a food service facility.

3. Serve Safe certified.

REPORTS TO: Director of Food Service

JOB GOAL: Work as a team member to prepare and serve nutritious meals to students as efficiently and expediently as possible.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

1. Prepares and serves food according to production sheets.

2. Reads and follows recipes, measures, and prepares food utilizing various kitchen equipment including ovens, mixers, slicers, dishwashers, etc.

3. Complies with the Safe Food Handling Standards (temp. controls).

4. Receives and verifies food and supply orders according to HACCP regulations.

5. Monitors inventory levels and submits weekly food orders.

6. Utilizes computer and food service software to properly record meals purchased.

7. Delegates duties to kitchen staff.

8. Operates and trains others on use of kitchen equipment.

9. Cleans kitchen area and equipment.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time

· Must be able to tolerate heat

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds

· Reach with hands and arms

· Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement work on computer and various kitchen responsibilities

· Speak clearly so listeners can understand

· Understand the speech of another person/listen

· Utilize safe procedures in situations involving equipment, knives, wet floors, oven, etc.

· Must be able to work with potent chemicals such as cleaning supplies
