Lead Cook

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily dietary operations, including meal preparation and food handling to meet quality standards.
• Assist in menu planning that caters to diverse dietary needs and preferences while maintaining nutritional guidelines.
• Lead food preparation efforts, ensuring proper cooking techniques and presentation.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols and sanitation practices across all kitchen activities.
• Support team members by providing training on knife skills, meal prep, and food industry best practices.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours and special catering events.
• Foster a positive team environment by mentoring staff and promoting collaboration within the dietary department.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in dietary departments or food service roles, including dietary aide experience preferred.
• Strong culinary background with skills in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
• Experience with fine dining or restaurant environments is advantageous.
• Proficiency in knife skills, meal preparation, and catering operations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
