Overview
HITC is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to serve as the technical lead for advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning supporting clinical decision-making and operational optimization under IHT 2.0. This is a Key Personnel position.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and validate algorithms supporting interoperability workflows, clinical informatics systems, and Agile integration reporting
- Ensure compliance with VA data governance, security, and privacy standards
- Support clinical systems integration (VA VistA/CPRS, Cerner Millennium/Oracle Health) and validate data migration fidelity
- Support Agile metrics/reporting (PI planning, backlog analytics, velocity/flow)

Required Qualifications (Minimum)
- Minimum education: Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline (preferred: Ph.D. in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Health Informatics)
- Minimum experience: 10+ years in data science or advanced analytics roles
- 5+ years applying machine learning and predictive modeling in healthcare or federal health IT environments
- Strong Python/R; familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow/PyTorch)
- Interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) and clinical terminologies (SNOMED, LOINC)
- Data visualization (Power BI/Tableau) and ETL processes

Preferred
- CHDA; CSM or SAFe Practitioner; healthcare data science/AI credentials

Work Location / Travel
Primarily remote. Travel/onsite support may be required if explicitly stated in the task order.
