Job description
Perio Health Professionals is seeking a Lead Dental Assistant for its highly respected and growing practice. As a Lead Dental Assistant, this position will play a pivotal role in the company’s clinical excellence and customer satisfaction. Must have Perio or Oral Surgery full time experience. Please do not apply if you don't have full time Perio/Oral Surgery full time experience. We are looking for an experienced Lead Dental Assistant who has worked with a Periodontist or Oral Surgeon full time at least 2 years minimum.
Expectations
- Delivering quality and compassionate care to patients
- Required to communicate well, and in a courteous and clear manner.
- Assist with exams
- Occlusal Guard Adjustments
- Prepare exam room
- Seats patients in designated exam rooms in a timely fashion.
- Taking medical history and noting changes / concerns
- Taking x-rays and impressions
- Make notes about procedures, progress, treatment recommendations, or other subjects in the patients' charts.
- Assist with pre-operative consultations from time to time
- Assist with surgery if needed id someone is out
- Ensure that instruments and the operatories are properly cleaned, sterilized and organized before procedures begin and after they are finished
- Screening, receiving, comforting, and physically discharging patients from dental surgical procedures.
- Responsible for taking and checking vital signs.
- Knowledge and use of 4 handed dentistry during procedures.
- Performing post-op evaluations and care
- This includes answering questions and providing home care instructions with patients and families.
- Stocking supplies and operatories
- Performing other related duties
- Compliance with TSBDE rules as well as with ADA, CDC, HIPAA and OSHA standards is required.
Qualifications
- Two years of Surgical assisting experience is a must, with Oral surgery or Periodontology, not general.

- Maintain dependable job attendance
- Dentrix experience preferred.

- X-Rays
- Basic Life Saving / CPR
- High school diploma or equivalent
