Lead Developer

Akarat.com is seeking a Lead Developer to take full ownership of the technical backbone of our property platform. We are looking for a visionary, hands-on leader to architect, build, and scale our system from the ground up. In this founding role, you will define our technology stack, lead a high-performing engineering team, and ensure a world-class, data-driven experience for both real estate agencies and property seekers across the UAE.

Responsibilities:

· Platform Architecture: Lead the design and development of a scalable, high-traffic web and mobile ecosystem for the UAE real estate market.

· API & XML Integrations: Build and manage high-performance integrations for Property CRM systems and XML property listing feeds.

· Technology Leadership: Define the technical stack and oversee end-to-end development lifecycles.

· Team Mentorship: Recruit, manage, and mentor a growing engineering team, fostering a culture of clean code and agile delivery.

· Performance Optimization: Ensure elite platform speed, security, and SEO readiness to compete with established portal giants.

· Search Infrastructure: Implement advanced search and indexing solutions for seamless property discovery.

Requirements:

· Experience: 3-5 years of Full-stack development experience, with at least 2+ years in a Lead or Senior Engineering role.

· Industry Knowledge: Proven track record in building high-traffic property portals or marketplaces within the UAE.

· Technical Mastery: Expert proficiency in modern frameworks like React/Next.js and back-end systems like Node.js or Django.

· Data Expertise: Deep understanding of database management (PostgreSQL/MongoDB) and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).

· Startup Spirit: Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and move from prototype to production at startup speed.

· On-Site Commitment: Must be able to work daily from our Dubai office.
