Position OverviewWe are looking for a highly skilled Lead DevOps/Cloud Engineer who will be responsible for managing and optimizing our multi-cloud infrastructure, leading Kubernetes implementations, ensuring system reliability, and mentoring junior team members. This role requires expertise in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure (AWS & Azure)

• Manage multi-account AWS (Annaafi-Org, AL NAFI-CLOUD) and Azure VMs/networking.
• Optimize spend; monitor and report billing.

AWS

• EKS: Create/operate clusters; lifecycle, scaling, ingress; HPA/Cluster-Autoscaler; RDS/EFS integration; node group tuning & taints.
• EC2: Provision/rightsizing; migrate apps to EKS; reserved instances for savings.
• RDS: Provisioning, tuning, EKS app connectivity.
• Networking: SGs, NACLs, VPNs; WAF/Firewall; Route 53; CloudFront.
• Other: Organizations (labs), SES, API Gateway, Connect, IAM, CodePipeline/Build/Deploy, OpenEdX infra.

Kubernetes & Containers

• Deploy/scale workloads with YAML/Helm/Kustomize; NGINX Ingress; autoscaling.
• Focus on resiliency, performance, faster deploys; build/maintain lab images & networks.

DNS & Domains

• Cloudflare DNS; GoDaddy/cPanel domains.
• Route 53 + Cloudflare for K8s; migrate internal tools to proper domains.

Monitoring & Observability

• Lead NOC/SOC; ensure 99.999% uptime.
• Grafana dashboards; Prometheus; ELK/ElasticSearch; CloudWatch; Datadog/KRR.
• Stream app logs to Grafana via CloudWatch; real-time alerts & incident escalation.

Security & Compliance

• Implement CIS Top 18; drive ISO 27001/27017/27018.
• Manage OPNsense; audits, patching, hardening

Application Modernization

• Lead microservices design/patterns; optimize Django/React/Frappe/Nuxt.
• Refactor for K8s; collaborate on log analysis.
• Produce architecture diagrams & docs.

Leadership & Mentoring

• Mentor junior DevOps/SysOps;
• Share tools/best practices; maintain architecture/config/optimization and mentoring records.

Administration

• Google Workspace (multi-domain) management; email domain migrations.
• Maintain AL NAFI RnD servers; monthly cost reports.
• Build/test AMIs for Cloud Labs; partner with QA-Ops on runbooks & reports.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

Essential:

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps/Cloud Engineering roles
• Expert-level knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, RDS, IAM, VPC, etc.)
• Strong Kubernetes expertise with production deployment experience
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI)
• Strong Linux/Unix administration skills
• Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, ELK)

Soft Skills

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Strong communication skills for mentoring and documentation
• Ability to work independently and lead initiatives
• Cost-optimization mindset with proven track record
• Experience in a 24/7 production environment support
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
