Lead Dog Handler / Driver

We’re currently looking for the right person to take on a unique role within our team.

We are a well-established dog walking company based in Hoboken, and we’re expanding into small group “field trips” — giving dogs more engaging, structured outings beyond the typical neighborhood walk.

This is not a standard dog walking position. This role involves responsibility, leadership, and trust.

About the role

• Driving and transporting small groups of dogs from Hoboken to nearby areas throughout Hudson County
• Working closely with our team during pickups (team members will assist and accompany you for pickups)
• Caring for dogs throughout the duration of the outing
• Leading safe, structured activity including dog park visits and long walks
• Managing group dynamics and maintaining a calm, controlled environment at all times

Vehicle requirements

• Spacious, dog-friendly vehicle required (SUV or van preferred)
• Valid driver’s license
• Active insurance and up-to-date inspection
• Vehicle must be clean, safe, and suitable for transporting multiple dogs
• This role is intended to be performed using your own vehicle (gas expenses will be compensated)

What we’re looking for

• Comfortable transporting multiple dogs safely
• Strong experience handling dogs (group handling experience preferred)
• Calm, confident, and in control in stimulating environments
• Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Must live in Hoboken or within a short commute

The position

• You will be responsible for the dogs from pickup through drop-off
• This is a hands-on role requiring physical stamina and strong awareness
• You will work closely with our team and integrate into daily operations

Important

This role requires someone who takes responsibility seriously. You are managing multiple dogs, environments, and logistics throughout the day. This is not a casual or low-effort position.
