Purpose of the role


This is an exciting time to work in General Mills’ Solutions Delivery organization!
General Mills is seeking an experienced SAP Transportation Management (TM) Expert to join our Supply Chain Logistics team as a D&T Manager. This role is critical to accelerating the digital transformation of our supply chain operations and providing a competitive advantage to our business. The successful candidate will manage transformation projects and "Run and Improve" initiatives within the SAP TM domain, supporting our business partners in the supply chain.


Your key responsibilities will include SAP TM Solution design/delivery, project leadership, team management, and process integration. You will collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities, develop solution designs that align with our business objectives. You will also take accountability for the successful delivery of SAP TM projects, from conception to implementation. This role requires you to lead and manage a team of SAP TM analysts, overseeing their work and professional development. Furthermore, you will provide essential leadership in connecting our supply chain processes across IT and business teams to ensure seamless end-to-end process alignment.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Project Leadership & Execution:
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end implementation of the SAP S/4HANA embedded Transportation Management module, from blueprinting and design to go-live and post-implementation support.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for all aspects of the SAP TM module, providing guidance and direction to the project team and business stakeholders.
Team & People Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SAP TM analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear objectives, and support the career development of your team members.
  • Manage resource allocation and workload for the team, ensuring efficient and effective execution of tasks and projects.
Run & Improve Initiatives:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and support of the SAP TM system, ensuring its stability and reliability.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements within the transportation and logistics functions.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize transportation planning, execution, and settlement processes, leveraging the full capabilities of SAP TM.
Solution Design & Configuration:
  • Collaborate with business users to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into functional and technical specifications.
  • Architect and design robust, scalable, and best-practice solutions within the SAP TM module.
  • Experienced and well versed in performing hands-on configuration of the SAP TM system.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Act as a key liaison between the IT department and business stakeholders in the supply chain, logistics, and finance departments.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences and provide regular updates on project status and system performance.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Education: Full-time bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 14+ years of experience in technology delivery, with 10+ years in SAP Transportation Management Module. S4 TM implementation experience preferred.
  • Proven hands-on Implementation/Business support experience with SAP TM preferably on S4 Hana landscape.
  • Strong understanding of Logistics processes and SAP S/4 TM solution.
  • Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile teams, DevOps.
  • Data integration experience
  • Team player, self-driven individual.
  • Prior CPG experience preferred


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Must have - Technical Skills
  • SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) – full configuration: freight planning, charge calculation, carrier selection, settlement.
  • Deep integration experience with SAP ERP, EDI, IDOCs, and RFCs
  • Expertise in BN4L (Business Network for Logistics) setup, integration, and live tendering processes
  • Advanced knowledge of Track & Trace platforms, including visibility layers and exception management
  • Leadership in SAP TM upgrades, Hot Pack application, and solutioning across modules
  • Strong understanding of Transportation business processes.
  • Hands-on configuration and debugging in TM + strong ABAP familiarity.
  • SAP SD functional exposure – order-to-cash integration with logistics
  • SAP WM/QM/LE – basic config and process flow understanding
  • Use of Track & Trace dashboards for shipment milestone and event tracking
  • Involvement in SAP TM testing, defect triage, and data migration
  • Comfortable with data flows between TM, ERP, and external logistics systems
  • Experience with Fiori apps and UI5 interfaces
  • Good understanding of freight audit, invoice matching, and rate structures.
  • End-to-end solution delivery: requirements, design, build, UAT, and deployment.
