Roles & Responsibilities:

As the Lead Electrical CAD Designer, you will be responsible for:

  • Design and create electrical schematics and control panel layouts with bill of materials.
  • Develop submittals and O&M manual documentation.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers on material selection and allocation.
  • Generate computer-aided propagation studies.
  • Document & send field reports of telemetry system installation and maintenance to customers
  • Coordinate the requisition of material and stock with assistance of CAD Drafter and Warehouse personnel.
  • Update Project Managers on project status and timelines.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager on engineered projects to review submittals and project documentation.
  • Train and mentor Jr CAD Drafters.
  • Performing other duties as needed to contribute to the overall success of Team UIS.

Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Associate's degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent work experience
  • Experience leading a small team.
  • Advanced AutoCAD 2D knowledge and experience
  • Proficiency with reading schematics and drawings
  • Ability to discern engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Process oriented.
  • Proficient with computers and knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Awareness and understanding of safety rules.
