General Description:

We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher (Lead 3rd/4th Grade Teacher) to guide our classrooms at Fuller Academy. In this vital role, you'll design and deliver a comprehensive program of instruction, ensuring it adheres to both the agency's and the District's educational philosophy, goals, and objectives. You'll utilize effective teaching strategies to meet all contractual performance standards. Beyond the classroom, you'll actively contribute to our Academy's quality and compliance initiatives, and hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day education and supervision of our students.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develops, reviews and implements lesson plans using curriculum provided that meets performance standards and aligns with Florida Elementary Education Standards.

  • Plans and arranges classrooms into distinctive learning areas that promote effective learning.

  • Conduct student assessments and develop individualized education plans to meet specific developmental, educational, and grade-level standards.

  • Foster parents’ participation through planning classroom activities.

  • Regularly communicate with parents through conferences, written updates, and calls to share student progress, upcoming events, classroom activities, and individualized education plan details.

  • Works closely with Director in developing strategies in appropriate standards-based instruction, program implementation, supervision, and evaluation.

  • Attends workshops and meetings as deemed necessary.

  • Attends all required staff and parent meetings/activities.

  • Represents the Academy in community activities and meetings.

  • Interacts with various stakeholders to foster a positive relationship between the school and the community school network, community organizations and leaders.

  • Performs other related duties as needed

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Baccalaureate or advanced degree in Elementary Education Required (or a related field with a state-approved teacher preparation component).

  • Have passed the Florida Teacher Certification Exam (FTCE).

  • At least 5 years of teaching experience required

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to professional and effectively communicate with educators, parents and community leaders.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Thorough understanding of the instructional methodology.

Language Skills:

This role requires a strong command of the English language, including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional documents and technical procedures. You should be proficient in typing reports, entering data, and generally possess the computer skills needed for the role. Effective communication in English is key. Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this position. This position requires a moderate amount of sitting, walking and the frequent use of hands and arms. Talking and listening will be a major component. Occasionally, light lifting will be required. The ability to focus with the eyes for close range and be able to distinguish colors is required. Additionally, the work environment is a typical climate-controlled office environment, and the noise is usually moderate, but occasional situation louder noise will be prevalent.

  • 8 hour shift (In-person, no remote)
