The Lead Engineer, Engineering Standards will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining engineering standards across our product portfolio. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving standardized engineering practices that ensure product consistency, quality, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, product development, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to drive consistency, efficiency, and standardization in the design and deployment of product development.
Education: BS degree of Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or related field. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred.
Experience: 8+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or standards-focused role.
Strong understanding of engineering documentation, CAD tools, and PLM systems
Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ASME, MIL, UL, ISO) and regulatory requirements
Experience developing and implementing engineering standards across multiple product lines
Experience working in a matrixed organization
Proven experience in renewable energy product development (e.g., solar, wind, energy storage). (preferred)
Knowledge/experience in the energy and datacenter markets. (preferred)
Travel: 5-10%
Work Schedule:Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday; Works a sufficient schedule to meet the expectations of the role.
Develops and maintains engineering standards, specifications, and best practices.
Leads cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of standards with product and business goals.
Evaluates and integrates industry standards and regulatory requirements into internal processes.
Drives standardization efforts across product platforms to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
Provides technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams on standards and compliance.
Collaborates with quality and regulatory teams to ensure product certifications and audits are supported.
Monitors emerging technologies and standards to keep the organization at the forefront of innovation.
Supports continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis for product.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
