OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Identifies and manages rotating asset reliability risks/threats to plant or business operations and provides technical advice to the Maintenance and Operation Divisions on statistical analysis, reliability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety systems. Participate in the final inspection of new installations, develop analytical methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes. To proactively maintain and continuously improve systems, plants, and assets to meet Health, Safety & Environment standards, Industry standards and Production requirements.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Take up detailed studies and investigations to eliminate chronic issues and bad actors affecting rotating assets in plants. Tracking of recommendations until completion of implementation.
  2. Improves mechanical equipment reliability and availability through the implementation of Reliability Engineering principles, techniques, and tools, such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), etc.
  3. Coordinates with Maintenance and Operations Departments to discuss, develop, review, and manage rotating asset maintenance and reliability strategies.
  4. Keep track of failure events & downtime reports and supporting role in achieving the organization Reliability KPIs by eliminating/minimizing the DT.
  5. Provides monitoring equipment performance trends, recognizing and acting on deviations from reliability and availability targets of the facilities.
  6. Contributes to the development of Predictive and Preventative Maintenance strategies and procedures and provide technical expertise for maintenance activities, standards and procedures.
  7. Work closely with other entities to determine and predict mechanical equipment components’ life using appropriate reliability tools, such as Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Mean time between failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Failure (MTTF), to ensure extended operating life of mechanical equipment.
  8. Attend periodic meetings with plant operation and maintenance personnel to discuss chronic issues, performance killers and bad actors resolution.
  9. Lead the implementation of new technology to elevate the failure prediction of rotating equipment.
  10. Support the TAM for rotating equipment as QA of execution.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.


Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in oil or mining or petrochemical in Mechanical equipment maintenance, of which at least 4 years as a Reliability Engineer and asset management of the company.
  • Worked on or have a good general understanding of Oracle systems, MS Office, and good presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; leadership and working through others; conceptual and analytical thinking; managing change and good problem-solving skills.
  • Requires understanding of best industry practices regarding maintenance activities and work Processes (API and ASME).
