Job Title: Workshop Maintenance Engineer (Heavy Earth Moving Equipment)

Department: Equipment / Maintenance Division

Reports To: Equipment Manager / Plant Manager / Workshop In-Charge

Location: Project Site or Central Workshop

Job Purpose:

To oversee, plan, and execute maintenance, repair, and service activities for heavy earth moving machinery (HEMM) such as excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, graders, dump trucks, and cranes — ensuring optimal equipment availability, reliability, and safety in line with company and client standards (Aramco, NEOM, SWCC).

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance and repair operations for heavy equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy equipment and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution.
• Maintain maintenance records, equipment history logs, and job cards for all machines.
• Ensure spare parts availability by coordinating with the procurement department.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend overhauls or replacements when necessary.
• Plan manpower allocation, job priorities, and ensure workshop productivity.
• Inspect completed repairs and test equipment for performance and safety compliance.
• Ensure adherence to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) maintenance standards.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices in the workshop.
• Train and mentor mechanics, technicians, and helpers on maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate with project and operations teams regarding equipment deployment and readiness.
• Prepare technical reports and maintenance cost analyses for management review.

Equipment Handled:

Excavators, Bulldozers, Wheel Loaders, Graders, Backhoe Loaders, Cranes, Forklifts, Dump Trucks, Compactors, Generators, and other construction machinery.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
• Experience: 5 – 7 years of relevant experience in maintenance of heavy earth moving machinery (preferably in construction, mining, or infrastructure projects in GCC).
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Hands-on experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Hyundai, or Doosan equipment preferred.
• Other Skills:
• Good leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management software (CMMS, SAP, etc.).
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
