Job Title: Lead Floral Designer
Location: Loudoun County, VA (on-site, travel required)

Availability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules

Role Overview

The Lead Floral Designer is responsible for leading the execution of floral designs from production to on-site setup. This role requires creative leadership, speed, accuracy, and a deep understanding of floral mechanics, design principles, and team coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute key design pieces (bouquets, centerpieces, installations, etc.)
• Oversee on-site installation, styling, and venue floral staging
• Manage and mentor junior designers and event assistants
• Ensure brand consistency and maintain Wildflower Hill Co. design standards
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and vendors
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the proper care and handling of flowers, tools, and equipment

Key Skills

• Floral foam and armature techniques
• Large-scale installations (arches, ceiling pieces, etc.)
• Seasonal bloom knowledge and sourcing
• Color theory and visual balance
• Time management and team leadership under event-day pressure

Qualifications

• 3–5 years floral design experience; weddings or large events preferred
• Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong understanding of floral mechanics and sustainable techniques
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (travel to venues required)
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Professional, calm, and solutions-oriented demeanor

Compensation

• $30–$40/hr (freelance, based on experience)
• Bonuses for seasonal availability or multi-event weekends
